For some people, “Sustainability” is a buzzword or a trend. But the fact is that there are many countries, cities and communities that are facing serious economic, social and environmental challenges. In 2020 alone, Kemmas used more than 5 tonnes of single-use plastic bags solely on fresh produces packaging. As much as we hate plastic, it really still plays an important role in the food chain and is still needed as a food packaging material. But even we can’t completely remove plastic us, we plan to address this major issue by transition of single-use plastic to different methods of packaging or deliveries. This will ensure our industry succeeds by adapting green thinking or methods of operation. As such, Kemmas has prepared our alternatives to singleplastics in and we hope our valued customers return in favorable to our initiative towards ‘zero’ single-use plastic, a sustainable future program in line with Malaysia’s Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, and
Environment & Climate Change (MESTECC).
We think of climate change as slow, but it is unnervingly fast. We think of the technological change necessary to avert it as fast-changing, but it is deceptively slow. In addition, Kemmas is stepping up on clean energy such as solar power, new cooling system and refrigerant gas that is environmental friendly and efficient. In our warehouse, we practice 3Rs and promote circular economy. This year, we are investing in technology to replace how we used to operate and to replace our reliance on paper. Sustainability offers a world of opportunities, creating value for individuals, communities, and every company. We constantly develop programs and policies to drive the implementation of our green strategy. With our Eco friendly solutions, we combine our responsibility towards the environment with the best user experience for our customers. We take responsibility for our products and the people we work with. Therefore, our high standards not only apply to ourselves but also to our partners.
